What better than the first 365 days of The Ripe Avocado?
That's right - we've turned 1!
And what a year it's been since our founder, Jay Burgesson Carter, took the plunge to bring his concept to life - a catering company with a taste for something different, founded on diversity, quality and inclusion.
Our First Year
What an incredible journey it's been so far! We've brought Bridgerton-themed culinary experiences to life, worked with clients like Disney, catered for 850 guests at the prestigious Old Billingsgate and fed guests aboard a vessel on the Thames! We've seen our name up in lights as accredited caterers at some of London's most iconic venues - hello British Museum, London Transport Museum and Kent House Knightsbridge (to name but a few), whilst we've also found ourselves on the list for venues further afield like Coombe End Manor and Addington Palace.
We've grown the team from founder to four, finding our incredible Head Chef and building the team with Operations and Sales support with people who share our vision and values. Plus we've officially partnered with Stonewall - a cause dear to our hearts and well worth supporting.
A Message from Our Founder
Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! After reflecting on an incredibly rewarding autumn season at The Ripe Avocado, I realised it's been a full 365 days around the moon since I registered the company. Although we didn't start trading until July 2024, today marks an incredibly special day for me personally. It was the day I said to myself, "This is going to be the best decision or worst decision you've ever made". One million pinch-me moments later, it has turned out to be the latter! It has been nothing short of AMAZING. I cannot thank my industry peers, colleagues, venues, clients and my dedicated team enough for the support that I have received - I and we could not have done it without you all. We've got some VERY exciting things planned for 2025 and the years to come, but for now we are off to celebrate with a 0% sparkling wine – it is dry January, after all...!''
Looking Ahead
We'll be celebrating properly in July to mark the anniversary of our first ever event (and why wouldn't we? We're in the business of special events and celebrations), but we wanted to acknowledge this occasion and reflect on a stellar first year of The Ripe Avocado.
